Pumpkin Patch

What a beautiful day we had last Saturday as we went to the pumpkin patch. Temps were in the upper 60s and the sun was extra bright. We headed to Old Baker Farm with Laura, Jonathan, Ella, and Audrey. I love Old Baker Farm. The other pumpkin patches in the area are so commercialized now. Old Baker Farm is just that...a good ole farm with a great pumpkin patch.

We were able to visit the barn animals. Molly really loved seeing the baby chicks and the baby goat. Too my surprise, she did pet the baby goat (he was so soft). Molly loved the horses but did not want to pet them. I think he may have been a tad too big for her liking.

Of course we had to take the time in front of the barn where they had several pumpkins and mums set up. This was the perfect picture taking opportunity. The only problem was the sun was so bright that Molly had issues looking at the camera to smile!

Molly got to ride on a tire swing that was shaped like a horse. That was a lot of fun for her.

She "climbed" on a hay stack. She loved just sitting there up "so high". She did not want to get down. We finally convinced her to get down by letting her know we were headed to the hay ride.

Luckily, we really did not have to wait in a long line for the hay ride(when we got back from the ride, there was a pretty long line, so our timing was great). It was fun bopping up and down as the tractor pulled us towards the pumpkin patch. Molly was so excited once the ride came to a stop to let us off to go find our perfect pumpkins. We found 3 beautiful pumpkins. 2 were average size and one that was just perfect for Molly to carry. She loves that pumpkin! She is so proud of it.

After we finished and rode back to the farm area, we went to look at the cotton plants. Not the most exciting thing for Molly. I thought she would think it was neat but it only held her attention for maybe 30 seconds. Molly did try to get lost in the cornfield though! Molly spotted the cotton bounce and told us she wanted to do this. Basically this is just a big tractor box full of cotton that kids can get in and bounce around. Looks like a bunch of fun. So, I get Molly's shoes off for her to only decide against it. Who knows! We decide then just to head to the hay maze.

It was fun running around in. Molly loved the parts where there were tunnels to go under. She thought it was too funny when we were stuck by a wrong way part.

Once we found our way out, Molly again asked to go in the cotton bounce. I told her no at first but she kept insisting that she really wanted to do it. I fell for it and decided why not. So, we get our shoes off once again, only for her to freak out when trying to get her to go in. It's a good thing she has velcro on her tennis shoes!!! So, no cotton bounce this year. And yes, she did try to convince us once again that she would go in. I'm sure she wouldn't...we'll see about next year then.

We had the best day. So much fun that Molly told me this morning that it was time to go back again. Too bad that she'll have to wait another year! Oh, what about Andrew you might ask? As you can see from the pictures, he was with us! As on our other adventures, he was wonderful! He just rode around in his stroller just as happy as he could be! He loved when we got him out for the hay ride and to walk in the pumpkin patch. I'm sure that next year's trip will be full of plenty of stories of his 2nd trip to the pumpkin patch!
